This prestigious 5 * hotel is located on the riverside in Cardiff in a stunning location. The client wanted to refresh the look of poolside and the changing rooms. We worked with them on the design specification to ensure these areas would match the modern exacting style they required.
Voco Refurb Project details
- Full strip out of poolside tiled areas
- Full strip out of male and female changing rooms including old locker systems
- Re-tiling of poolside in contemporary plank tile
- Installation of new poolside access hatches
- Re-tiling of Hydro pool top and wall areas in feature mosaic tile with contrasting tile band
- Removal of old sauna cabin and installation of bespoke sauna cabin finished in Cedar wood
- Installation of new changing room locker systems to male and female changing rooms
- Re-tiling of changing rooms floors and shower areas
Mosaic Tiling
Feature mosaic tiles were used around the poolside window columns and curved wall areas to make these stand out. The hotel logo was hand cut into the floor of the poolside shower and inlaid in gold mosaic tile, which really gives the area a 5* feel.
Hydro Pool
The Hydro pool top was stripped and new mosaics installed with a contrasting tile band which follows the contours of the pool, snaking around poolside.
Sauna Cabin
A bespoke sauna cabin was manufactured and installed on poolside to replace the old cabin, this was finished internally with Cedar wood which releases its natural aroma when heated, creating the multisensory experience when entering the cabin.
Locker Room Refurb
New locker systems were fitted to both male and female changing rooms, replacing the old dated lockers, these featured new digital locks.
